Introduction
This policy outlines the standards and requirements for all advertising creatives submitted Emodo. Advertisers must comply with these guidelines to ensure their ads are approved for delivery across our network of publishers and exchanges. These policies help maintain a high-quality advertising ecosystem that respects user experience while delivering effective advertising.
General Requirements
Accuracy and Transparency
- All ads must be truthful, accurate, and not misleading to users
- Ads must clearly identify the advertiser or the brand being promoted
- Landing pages must be relevant to the ad content and offer advertised
- Pricing, discounts, and special offers must be accurately represented
User Experience
- Ads must not disrupt or negatively impact the user experience
- No excessive flashing, blinking, or strobing effects that could cause discomfort
- Audio in ads must be user-initiated (click to play) unless otherwise specified by the placement
- Ads must not mimic system or website warnings, alerts, or error messages
Legal Compliance
- All ads must comply with applicable laws and regulations in the regions where they will be displayed
- Advertisers are responsible for ensuring their ads meet industry-specific regulatory requirements
- Ads must respect intellectual property rights and not use unauthorized content
- Privacy policies must be accessible and compliant with relevant data protection laws
Prohibited Content
The following content is not permitted on our platform:
Illegal Products or Services
- Counterfeit goods or services
- Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia
- Weapons, ammunition, or explosives (where prohibited by law)
- Any products or services that facilitate illegal activity
Adult Content
- Pornography or sexually explicit material
- Escort services or adult entertainment
- Graphic nudity or suggestive content that is not appropriate for general audiences
Harmful or Dangerous Content
- Content promoting self-harm or suicide
- Instructions for making weapons or harmful substances
- Glorification of violence or criminal activity
- Content that incites hatred or discrimination
Deceptive Practices
- Malware, spyware, or software that engages in deceptive practices
- Phishing schemes or identity theft
- Scams, pyramid schemes, or get-rich-quick offers without legitimate products
- Misrepresentation of products or their effectiveness
Sensitive Personal Attributes
- Content that exploits sensitive personal or political beliefs
- Ads that imply knowledge of personally identifiable information
- Discriminatory content based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, gender, or sexual orientation
Restricted Content
The following categories require additional review and must meet strict guidelines:
Alcohol
- Must target users of legal drinking age
- Must not glorify excessive consumption
- Must include responsible drinking messaging where required by law
- Must comply with local alcohol advertising regulations
Gambling and Betting
- Must only target jurisdictions where legal
- Must not target minors
- Must include responsible gambling messaging
- Must comply with local gambling advertising regulations
Financial Services
- Must clearly disclose terms, fees, and conditions
- Must include required regulatory disclosures
- Must not make unrealistic promises about returns or results
- Must comply with financial advertising regulations
Health and Wellness
- Must not make unsubstantiated health claims
- Must not claim to cure, treat, or prevent diseases without proper authorization
- Pharmaceutical ads must include required warnings and side effects
- Weight loss products must avoid unrealistic or misleading claims
Political Advertising
- Must clearly disclose who paid for the ad
- Must comply with all election and campaign finance laws
- Must maintain accurate information
- May require additional verification and documentation
Industry-Specific Guidelines
Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare
- Must comply with FDA/EMA or equivalent regulatory guidelines
- Must include fair balance of risk and benefit information
- Must not encourage self-diagnosis or self-medication
- Prescription drug advertising may be restricted in certain regions
Financial Products
- Investment opportunities must disclose risks
- Credit offers must clearly state terms and APR
- Mortgage and loan advertisements must include required disclosures
- Cryptocurrency and NFT ads must include risk warnings
Children’s Products
- Must comply with COPPA or equivalent regulations
- Must not collect personal information from children without parental consent
- Must not promote age-inappropriate products or services

Technical Specifications
File Types and Sizes
- Accepted file formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, HTML5
- Maximum file sizes:
- Display ads: 150KB initial load, 300KB subload
- Video ads: 10MB (30-second max length)
- Native ads: Text – 25-125 characters; Image – 150KB
Ad Dimensions
- Standard IAB sizes required
- Responsive designs recommended for all placements
- Custom sizes may be available for premium placements
Functional Requirements
- All clickable areas must have corresponding tracking URLs
- All third-party tags must be SSL-compliant (HTTPS)
- All HTML5 creatives must be self-contained
- Maximum animation length: 15 seconds (can loop up to 3 times)
Video Specifications
- Aspect ratio: 16:9 or 4:3
- Resolution: minimum 720p
- Frame rate: 24-30 fps
- Bit rate: 2-5 Mbps
- Audio: AAC codec, 44.1kHz, stereo
Creative Review Process
Submission Requirements
- All creatives must be submitted at least 48 hours before intended launch
- Complete creative assets and landing pages must be functional
- Creative briefs should include intended targeting and placement information
- New advertisers must complete the onboarding verification process
Review Timeline
- Standard review: 24-48 hours
- Expedited review (premium accounts): 12 hours
- Restricted category review: 48-72 hours
Revision Process
- Rejected creatives will receive detailed feedback
- Revised creatives will be reviewed as new submissions
- Appeals can be submitted to the policy team at email address
Compliance and Enforcement
Monitoring and Auditing
- All live creatives are subject to ongoing monitoring
- Random audits will be conducted to ensure continued compliance
- User feedback and complaints will be investigated promptly
Violations and Penalties
- First violation: Warning and required creative removal/revision
- Second violation: Temporary suspension of the specific campaign
- Third violation: Temporary suspension of advertiser account
- Serious violations: Immediate account termination
Appeals Process
- Appeals must be submitted within 7 days of enforcement action
- Documentation supporting the appeal must be provided
- Appeals will be reviewed within 5 business days
Policy Updates
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in regulations, industry standards, or platform requirements. Advertisers will be notified of significant changes, and the current policy will always be available at policy URL.
